Day 4 of the Embroidery Project

DSC03547

Today, I did a couple of the roses/flowers/whatever you want to call them.  Those take FOREVER.  They may be small but each one takes roughly 45 minutes.  I like following the border pattern much better but the roses need to get done too.

  1. It's going slowly but surely, it looks like!
I admire your tenacity in finishing this! I'd probably have moved on already, and taken months or even years to get back to it!

    1. Thanks! I figured this project was small enough I might actually complete it...unlike the three or four others lying around. :-)

  2. This is so lovely! Where did you find the pattern?

    1. The pattern is based of the one on Anne Meyer's dress in this painting from about 1526.

There are variations on this pattern (border in-versing at each "stop" with a flower in the middle) going well into the 17th C which is part of the reason I choose it. :-)
